Project Cassie Part #1 - Introduction

Firstly, Happy New Year 2012! Hope it is not too late to wish to all Revsphotoblog readers. A blue 510? What a nice color for an old school jewel like this. Anyway, I would like to present to all of the readers, my own 510, codenamed "Cassie".

Cassie is a 71' Datsun Bluebird 510, originally powered by 1400cc L14 straight 4 engine. But, the previous owner before this had changed the engine to 1600cc L16 from 1600 SSS model. He also had change all of the dash into 69' 1600 SSS model, 68' front grill assembly and a RARE set of 1600 SSS Coupe tail light.

Rocking a set of 15 inch Black Racing banana type, twins of Watanabe with 15 x 6.5jj +21 offset all around. Already upgraded to disc brake system to all four braking system.

Lastly, I'm very glad to own one of the jewel in old school car community. Hoping that this project will be a greatest project that I had ever own one in my life. Maybe this project will be quite slow, but I will update if there are any kind of progress.

Jay-walking around town the other day, I stumbled upon this orange creature. Its a Honda CR-X with god knows what's inside. Just some of the photo I manage to snap.

Full black frontal with OK stance.

Nicknamed Akuma, once encounter him at local touge track long long time ago. But then i was driving old school saga LOL

Jaguh Autoworks's KE70

Black on Black? Not everyone type of taste. But this KE70 really make an attraction to any automotive enthusiast in the world. Owned by Afif a.k.a Jaguh, one of my friends in automotive scene. Known him about 3 years or more. Saw him first time at Ammar's house, helping Ammar on his 808 dash wiring.

Before this, this KE70 was red in color with polished dished rims. But after a total makeover from him for his final year project, this black beast was reborn. Still maintaining the original engine, 4K, but with some of his own special recipe for the internals + gearbox and a welded differential for drifting purpose. All of the modification had been done by himself, as he was an automotive student before this

So, on my last visit to Kuala Lumpur, he had contact me to shoot this black beast with some different style from other shoots. Wearing a formal style suit, as for office works, but to pose it with the black beast. Just like Ken Block and Matt Powers shoot out in Speedhunters from Linhbergh.

Representing Canibeat and Fatlace, and also his own blog, Jaguh Autoworks at the rear windscreen. All of the stickers are totally legit. No fake shit here though. Anyway, if you look this beast properly, you will see a custom made roll-cage inside of this beast. For readers information, the roll-cage had been done by himself during the process in his final year project.

Although it rocking a full straight pipes with side exit, this black beast didn't sound really loud compared to other cars that using straight pipes. But it really sound nicely done.

Running a quite negative camber at the front, used for drifting purpose. All the suspension parts are done by himself, custom adjustable, custom extended lower arm, custom knuckle, custom RCA, and many more parts. If you do want any of the parts, do contact him ya!

Dress-up like a boss and posing with his black beast. Really turn up the style.

Cruising around the town with this beast, really makes others keen to ponder although just a second.

Although rocking a set of 13 inch mags wheels, this beast have a nice fitment though. Slightly slammed but still practical for Malaysian road. Really dig the fitment on this beast.

Finally, I end this up with a dramatic panning style shot. Although it quite blurry, but the effect make the picture feeling more artistic. Beetle crisis

When I saw this beetle come in, I had a thought that this beetle must be odd from others according to the sound of the engine, rocking TE37 and such a massive Apexi N1 exhaust.

Hell yeah, I am right! This beetle is turbo charged! By looking at the engine bay, a bolt on turbo system on the original engine had been done by the owner.

According to friend of the owner, this engine had been combined with the complete Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 3 wiring and harness. Very packed engine bay that I had ever seen in a beetle actually.

The semi-slicks at the back really shows this beetle is special from other common beetle. Maybe the owner want to have more grip on this beetle by using semi-slicks at the back. Hoping to see more of these kind of modification in Malaysia.

Well, there was nothing on me this Eid ul Adha, except for my both babies here. No plan on upgrading powerplant, but thinking of selling one of this to upgrade to better chassis. LOL not in a near time. Been drifting for awhile now with the beat-up spec wagon, Thanks to the sifu here.

By looking from the front mount intercooler (FMIC), we know that this 510 is powered by turbocharged engine. Yup, this 510 is really powered by a fairly known engine, SR20DET from S14. Owned by one of my oldskool car club friend, known as Pok Tek. Pok Tek had been known for many years in owning Datsun 510. This is maybe the 5th or 6th 510 that he own. One of his famous creation, a pink colored 510 CA18DET powered for a while and change it to 13B and a flat green 510 powered by L16 with twin weber DCOE 40.

This car just had been finished from a paint job when I shoot this. Before this, this monster was in black colour, but Pok Tek want to change it to flat grey because he want to make this monster different than other 510. And yet, he really dig it. Good job Pok Tek.

Still maintaining the original 69' dash, but with some modern touch like Apex'i RSM for several readings, Silvia steering rack and pinion system with the steering wheel replacing the original Datsun steering box. He also maintaining all the original interior that really rare to find for now.

Rocking the Work ASA 16 inch, with 4 pot brake in front, single pot at the back. A quite nice stance for this monster, still practical for Malaysia's road condition. Pok Tek also had treat me with a nice burnout from this monster. Quite a nice view would I say. Anyway thanks to Pok Tek for giving me a chance to shoot this monster. Hope that one day my 510 will be as perfect just like this monster.

Rolling Shots. One of my favourite type of shot when photoshooting cars. The motion blur appears around the car makes it feel alive.

Inspired from the other automotive photographers, I always try my best to make a nice rolling shot every time I had chance to photo shoot a car. A nice rolling shot will make me feel so satisfied.

All of these pictures are ones from my best rolling shot when joining my friend, Ammar at a drift event at Putrajaya. All shots are shot around Putrajaya while we went back from the event. This KE70 is 4AGE 20V Blacktop powered had been sold by Ammar. Sad but that was his decision to let go this nice machine. Hope that he will back to drifting scene with other nice machine. Anyway i'm hoping to get more nicer rolling shot in my future.

Honda EK4

Last post on eating burger at Kemaman was fun though, still fun when I think about meeting good people there. and of course being able to speak Terengganu was quite hard to learn and both understand but it was quite fun here.

And meeting with this car was basically a good times.

Having a good times. What people would sacrifice to have a good times. Money and times were part of it. This goes to this owner whom I've met at Rantau Petronas area Terengganu before this. When I was 'sunday driving' my car (and it was sunday too) I'd stumbled upon this monster.

A Honda EK4 was stranded at the side of the road, waiting for engine to cool down. It was such a nice place to sit around, a lots of treees and it was pleasurable to feel the serene environment there.

I'd never got a chance to ask this owner's name. But I did take picture of his car. Looks like a EK9 but the real thing is it is Honda Civic EK4. When asked about why did he stop here, he didn't want to say about it.

With blue P1 rims at the rear...

...and front wheels, this owner would practically keep 15' as the good sizes for both daily drivability and boy racing at highway.

Good stance was all over the car. Still abit high I must say, but it is good for East coast road which Pot Holes rules over here.

Ask the owner what limits he has gone with this car, and he says "Its over 9000!!"

B16B big vtec over here with B20B conversion looking at roadtax. I gotta admit I'm a bit noob when it comes to FF cars. I just don't know anything about VTEC here. All I know is working like a BOSS at Honda Service Center.

When asked again why, he then confess that his engine was thirsty drinking the engine oil as the piston ring worn out. Too bad for him, but at least we lend him a help, of keeping him not bored while waiting his engine to cool down

We then left the scene, with good amount of picture and the last picture of him.

While having some major breakdown with my car now, I kept thinking about quitting my blog, facebook and all stuff. But to be honest, this is my life now, apart from having a real social life outside of internet. So I decided not to leave this important things in my life. Who says internet not important? It is important as much as Eating.

HAHA. Enough with useless blabber here. I just want to share about my project car (which is now abandoned. :'| Poor corona). It is Toyota Corona TT132, a brother to KE70 which is more small and less power than this TT132.

Come to think of it, this is why I like TT132, bigger bolder than KE70 but it looks like KE70. OK enough crap here.

My friend got this car for RM 1,000 so we just pick it up one day. My college didnt have any Final Year Project (FYP) so me and my housemate decided to have one.

It has 3T 1.8 engine and W50 gbox which for me is quite powerful. Albeit the old and big engine, it was quite interesting to drive this car. Bring so much happiness in my face. HAHA. Got ot drive it around with no roadtax and insurance was quite dangerous and fun, but I manage to get out of it.

But because of unforeseen circumstances, we decided to leave this project. It was quite sad though, but it was a strange happy feeling for us 5, because this is the first project car that we've been encountered as a team.

This is the last place the corona stay. Quite sad to see, but what's past is past. Hope to see you again lady!

Trip to the easter side of east

Although you readers probably end up reading/viewing my blog after there are more things to do, by now you should know that I'm automotive junkie, I shoot cars and posts stuff about cars. But this time around, its going to be different, I'm gonna post my travelogue here. (I think) I've never done it before but seeing peoples update their blog with their travelling journey, I think I should too.

Thinking about how my hometown a bit slow than the other country in terms of town development, I was forced to travel outside of my hometown to eat something good. Not saying that mine are sucks but out of town is just better. LOL. So me and my friends decided to eat something Western, something with cheese and big. Then we think about BURGER KING here at Eastern East.

Pick my friends up and Of we go!

Taken by my friend, Mikael Atoya, this Volvo 850 just wrongly stopped his/her car. In front of the white line, you get it? LOL. To tell you the truth, (no offense to Terengganu people), their driving skill sucks big time. One time when I drove that day, this one car literally overtake my car, when there's a car on the other side. How dangerous is that? Haha. OK back to the so-called 'travelogue'.

Me and my brother here. Caught nose-picking there. HAHA. The sun shine brightly that day. Become very happy because I want to eat big burger. BK is soo mainstream I know but what the hell!

Of course, pass through this Industrial area here in my hometown is a must. One place called Gebeng, its where the nuclear plant are built and going to destroy human being in Kuantan. Hope can expel all those money-eating politi.... Nevermind.

After long hours of driving, (1 and a half hours :p ) we reach here. Mesra Mall. High expectation over here. Hope its good~ Less people, more space to walk, less bullshit, more parking. And over-excited I'd jump over the shopping mall and guess what we saw....

NOTHING...yeah, nothing. Big, yet so small. Too small for the name 'MALL' but it is quite spacious here. Walking around 'like a boss', then my stomach begin make this dubstep sound. Walk around and tadaaaa...

Big ol' BK here. The sun shine, the stomach got his own sound and we've trashed into. Looks like no people. Good. But NO PEOPLE? are you sure? While thinking about that, my mind was buffering, loading with what to eat and whatnot.

YES MAN. No one's around, no bullshit Mat rempit weng weng, No hipster, no wannabes, I just want to eat happily here. HAHA! But its seems kinda bored because no one's here. The awkward moment when you're just the group that eat there. HAHA

Ordered a 3 Large Double whopper with triple cheese each one and Onion Rings, we settle down to eat. Big big burger (compared to Local burger) don't you think?

After spending so much time seeing EPIC MEAL TIME at youtube, we came up with this idea, Quadruple Whopper with double triple cheese!. Sadly no BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS. LOL

My brother try to ate that monstrous burger, but he failed. Just for the picture! BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS, BACONSTRIPS. LOL again.

Then we decided to go back, was kinda bored around here. Waiting for our burgers to settle down in our belly, we begin to walk the walk and talk the talk. HEH. Was looking for Hana Tajima looking girls and what we found was this...

Hana tajima's Starwars cousin, Darth Vader, and there was me, derpy face at Toys' R US. Come to think again, Toys r us are magically fun. Because last time (and now), my family can't afford to buy toys here. Just buy $2 toy box only.

Before we left Mesra mall, we stumbled upon this at TGV cinema, and little that we know, Pedobear come for a rescue. Papa I@ U. This is (I think) the first and the last time visiting here. Place were small, less people, HANA TAJIMA's Wannabe all around and IDK.

And then, we began to speedhunting here in a land of Turtle. I like turtles. It kinda reminisce me to this Yellow 6-series BMW that we've came across just after eating those big burger. Yellow and BMW, might be the only 6-series in Terengganu I think. Pajero-stance, wrong match of wheels and LED's. Fail much?

While going back, we've managed to stop to observe this EK9 wannabe EK3. Big Vtec, White car, Blue rims I don't know anything to say. Have a stop and make a quick cit chat with the owner himself, more on this later.

By the way, did you know that Terengganu have one of the most beautiful untouch beaches. Beautiful Scenery, serene translucent beaches. But Hot. So we're in Star cruises Jetty nearby Awana Kijal here, without the Star cruises ship. But before that we manage to stop-by at...

...Kemasik beach. The beach that typical photographer here in my hometown always wanted to go. Nothing's around mate. Boring, no Fun things and no entertainment whatsoever. No offense but I think Kuantan beach is the beast beach of all time. OF ALL TIME.

And then it was kinda bored, so they decided to shoot this. and I was bored here, I edited like this. Lame, I know :(

Thinking and always watching FILM photography, made me wonder how my picture going to look like with Light Leak, I know you FilmFag out there going to bash me sooner or later but what the hell. Just going to post it anyways. Seeing at the Star-Cruises Jetty, again with no Starcruises ship here. Keh Keh keh

Probably the last time you ever see the car with Sissy fluorescent yellow. Glad that it has served it purposes. To brag about through out the town. Been there, Done that. Now onto the new rims. HAHA

Before reaching Kuantan, you must go thru another beach - called Cherating. It has the name but it was quite bored IMHO. What you see up there is Locals with boards, running around. Cool isn't it? But still bored, until you've found the Naked Beach...

...which is empty and located behind that Hill. HAHA. Got you, bro. It was sunday and there was no one here at Cherating. I guess most of the tourist not coming here now. Because it was bored. Ok back to hometown..

By reaching one of the petrol station over there, I'd stumbled upon this Mindfuck creatures I should say, because this Honda Accord Inspire have a Longitudinal engine like most of FR cars but it is FF!? HAHA. Took me time to consume this fact but nevermind. Doesn't make any profit to me. FF sucks but i drive FF. Cool rite?

Almost going to reach my home, My friend, atoya snapped this using my camera. I was driving that day and it made smile that I have gone thru one new experience with my friends, speedhunting at nearby hometown. Hope I can repeat this with a lot of friends, to gain new experience, and learn from any mistake.

For a working man like me, every weekend is a gateway from work for me, especially for part time photographer/photoblogger, with me getting more in love with automotive everyday minutes by minutes,gain knowledge from blog , friends , also from other enthuist , its hard not to keep thinking " Hey! I want to be awesome like that guy! "

So last weekend , I spend mostly hanging out with the ma boy, talking about cars ,critizing about the other car which passing by while we're hang out at Under Tree Teluk Chempedak Bay. We do hookah like theres no tomorrow , joining me ,blog owner himself ,Bancha visenuk ,Kead kesaito , and 'Symphonie plastic' Mursyid and also nearby is boys from SCC ,Arham and the gangs.

While on Sunday ,being the last Sunday before Ramadhan , Gebeng drift course is thrive with KE70. Too bad , I'm not well prepared with battery almost dead, kit lens ,and no flash. So here the little amount of photo I could share ,while the other photo is almost teh same : )

Too early I'd guess : ) also while tandem with Panjang , he accidently hit Panjang's left door cause him to spun out causing Panjang's door got a big dent.

When the evening getting darker, I called its a wrap , as my camera are already limited by the low light condition. Hoping to get better lens next time. Talking about body wise? My ISO3200 iso still can handle the noise.

One conclusion , panjang is the master of the new R shape track.

If couple of month ago you've saw my ride, frankly I wanna tell you guys, it stays the same when you saw today. Just bought a couple of things, and one thing that make me stop for doing my car is, Time and $$$. The bling bling that literally stopped me for doing anything. Hashiguti Anderson feint in Speedcity track. Multiple shots were taken, this were the good ones. I don't like Speedcity IMHO, its hard for a fan to see when they drift. I know the place were mainly attractive, like big and ample parking space, but to see them driving, feinting, just dissapointing.

And also, there is a stone barrier makes it hard for rookie drifter to practise, because they have only one car to drift, and to drive back home. But to see at the positive side, you can practise to be more professional if you can avoid the barrier. Of course shit happens, but that makes you grow even better.

Seen in this picture, Johan Norman in his Laurel C33 tearing up Speedcity tarmac. Very nice sight because of people doesnt usually own this type car. Would be nice if more and more people use different kind of car rather than typical KE's, AE's or S-chassis...

The more I search my database for a picture, the more I get the new picture.

It is a GRA day here in Putrajaya, the same goes as a KBS drift training day that day. Multiple car were there either joining the GRA or just messing around. When I pass thru this kind of car, it kinda like mesmerize me because we rarely get to see this kind of creature here in Malaysia.

JZX90 Chaser is one of my favourite car and it goes in the "car-I-Should-own-someday" list. Whilst the list goes on, seeing this car just park here, not doing anything, it makes your time of doing nothing just worth the time.
